How can I get HP Insight Diagnostics? |

HP Insight Diagnostics Offline Edition is available by booting the SmartStart CD. (Download the SmartStart CD) HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition is available either through the ProLiant Support Pack or as a standalone set of utilities downloadable from the Software and Driver web pages. The Online Edition is also viewable from the System Management Homepage. |

How are the capabilities/functions of the Offline Edition different than the Online Edition? |

The Offline Edition is available only through booting the SmartStart CD. During offline mode, the operating system is not running and software information from the system is not available to the diagnostics. The Offline Edition provides a comprehensive suite of ProLiant system and component tests, providing in-depth testing of critical hardware components for devices such as CPU, memory and hard drives. This version also displays the current system configuration. Obtain the SmartStart CD.
The Online Edition is a web-based application that captures hardware and operating system configuration information, records critical information for documentation and disaster recovery, and compares historical configurations on the same server or a baseline server. This version is available as a component from the ProLiant Support Pack (PSP) and can be accessed through a Windows or Linux Browser, from the System Management Homepage, or HP Systems Insight Manager. |

The Insight software Software offers various levels of management for your ProLiant servers and options.
HP Systems Insight Manager manages all of your HP server platforms running Windows, Linux, HP-UX and other supported operating systems. Extend HP Systems Insight Manager to provide advanced management of storage, clients, and printers as well as rapid deployment, performance management, and workload management for servers.
The HP System Management Homepage (SMH) provides a consolidated view of system hardware health, configuration, performance and status information for individual HP servers. Through ProLiant server management agents and version control agents, the SMH is a web-based interface that consolidates single system management information: fault and status monitoring, performance data / thresholds and tracking, and software version control. What happened to the Compaq Survey Utility? |

As of December 2004, HP has discontinued development and technical support for the classic Survey Utility. The final version of the Survey Utility will remain available from hp.com for use on legacy systems; however, that version will not receive any updates or fixes.
