HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager (VCEM) centralizes connection management and workload mobility for HP BladeSystem servers that use Virtual Connect to access LANs and SANs. HP Insight Remote Support Advanced software enhances HP Systems Insight Manager with intelligent event diagnosis and automatic submission of hardware event notifications securely to HP support. The contract/warranty entitlement feature of HP SIM requires this plug-in to be installed.

HP SIM uses the Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) standard to discover and manage the storage systems it supports. You must have a storage system's SMI-S provider installed and configured in order for HP SIM to discover it. The storage systems supported by HP SIM include Fibre Channel disk arrays, tape libraries, switches, and hosts (with Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters installed).
