The HP Lights-Out management processors support an advanced scripting interface for group configuration and server actions. The scripting capability of the iLO and RILOE II provides an easy and efficient way to configure and maintain management processors in large scale IT environments, saving time and avoiding costs. For example, scripting is useful to roll out standard lights-out firmware versions, license keys and configurations as part of server deployment and to push configuration changes and updates to all your lights-out processors.
Scripting from a Windows Client - The Lights-Out Configuration Utility (CPQLOCFG.EXE) can be used to configure iLO, RILOE II, and RILOE. It takes just a few simple steps to use the scripting interface:
- Download and install the CPQLOCFG.EXE on your client system.
- Download and modify the sample scripts.
- Run the CPQLOCFG program in a batch process or using HP Systems Insight Manager or Insight Manager 7. For detailed instructions on how to use the scripting interface, see the latest User Guide for iLO or RILOE-II.
Scripting from a Linux Client - The HP Lights-Out management processors scripting interface used with CPQLOCFG may also be used with PERL. Information on using PERL for HP Lights-Out scripting may be found in the Integrated Lights-Out User Guide / Integrated Lights-Out Updated Information Booklet. It takes just a few simple steps to use the scripting interface with PERL:
- Download and modify the PERL sample scripts.
- Execute PERL with the modified scripts. For detailed instructions on how to use the scripting interface, see the latest User Guide for iLO or RILOE-II.
