Dynamic Power Capping

Caps ProLiant server and BladeSystem enclosure power consumption at a user-defined level.
  • Reduces costly power and cooling overhead by efficiently using the power and cooling resource budgeted to each rack.
  • Maximizes utilization of data center floor space by fitting more servers or enclosures in each rack.
  • Postpones the need for costly data center expansions or facilities upgrades.

Accurate Power Measurement

Measures power consumption and ambient air temperature for multiple servers or enclosures over time.
  • Assists with data center planning by providing accurate characterization of current and anticipated future power usage.
  • Enables power usage to be more accurately factored into IT infrastrcture chargeback programs.
  • Helps data center managers identify potential thermal issues before they result in unplanned downtime or increased facilities cost.

Automatic power regulation

Regulates server power consumption by changing processor power states based on application workload demand.
  • Reduces power consumption by as much as xx% by reducing processor power states and corresponding processor clock speed when servers are running at low utlization.
  • Automatically allocates up to the full processor clock speed when the required to ensure no degregation in end-user performace.
  • Provides choice to always run in high performance mode, power saver mode, or dynamic power regulation mode.
