In order to manage a target server with the the HP Insight Power Manager (IPM), a license for both IPM and iLO 2 Advanced (or iLO 2 Select) must be present. The short table below contains buying guidelines that will help you select the proper offering for you.

*Remote control license (iLO Advanced or iLO Select) is required for proper operation.
If you already have a license for iLO 2 Advanced (or iLO 2 Select) - you should purchase the Insight Power Manager license. For usage this license should be applied within HP Systems Insight Manager 5.1 (available free of charge). You should also download HP SIM 5.1 from the HP website, or obtain it from the Management CD or Insight Control DVD.
If you do not have a license for iLO 2 Advanced or iLO 2 Select, you should purchase the Insight Control suite for complete manageability.
