Workstation Blade Deployment Support

Article: 20000021

Applies to: Release 6.x

Before deploying Windows XP to a workstation blade, either disable the Virtual Install Disk option in ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU) or upgrade to a newer ROM where the Virtual Install Disk option is already disabled or has been removed.

On a workstation blade, it is recommended to put the video into setup mode before installing the operating system and then into user mode afterwards. This insures that the drivers for both graphics adapters will be installed and available. For setup mode, execute the Deploy ProLiant System Configuration (XW Video Setup Mode) job before any Windows XP or Windows Vista scripted install or sysprep job. For user mode, execute the Deploy ProLiant System Configuration (XW Video User Mode) job.
