Firewall Port Settings For Deployment

Article: 20000053

Applies to: Release 6.x

When utilizing a firewall locally or on the network, certain ports need to be allowed through the firewall for RDP to function properly. For port information, refer to Altiris Products Ports and Protocols White Paper. Additionally, port TCP 4300 is necessary for client/server file transfer. This port number is set during the VMware ESX feature installation.

Windows Server 2008 has multiple firewall profiles that require configuration depending on the RDP network environment. When updating the Windows Server 2008 firewall configuration, make sure all these profiles are taken into consideration.
