SmartStart assists the server deployment process by preparing the system for installing "off-the-shelf" versions of leading operating system software. SmartStart takes advantage of embedded ROM-based utilities that enables server and array controller configuration. SmartStart automatically installs optimized ProLiant server support software, known as ProLiant Support Packs (PSPs), with every assisted installation. SmartStart is included in the Insight software Foundation Pack and ships standard with every ProLiant ML and DL 300, 500, and 700 series of servers.
Stay up-to-date with ProLiant server firmware and software using the new ProLiant Firmware Update CD and the ProLiant Software Update CD. The ProLiant Firmware Update CD delivers a collection of firmware for ProLiant servers and options. The ProLiant Software Update CD delivers a collection of software, including the PSPs, for ProLiant servers and options. These two CDs are available only as downloadable CD images or included with a purchase of the ProLiant System Software Subcription, also known as the SmartStart subscription.
