A3. Yes. The Smart Array Multipath software is included with the 4-Port Shared Storage Module at no additional cost to the customer.

Q1. What is the part number for the 4-Port Shared Storage Module and Smart Array Multipath software?
A1. 292944-B21

Q2. How many busses are there in the 4-Port Shared Storage Module?
A2. There are two busses: A and B clearly marked on the module. When using Smart Array Multipath configuration, make sure to cable each host servers to both busses.

Q1. What Is the warranty on the 4-Port Shared Storage Module?
A1. The option will assume either the remainder of the warranty of the MSA500 it is installed in or one year from the date of purchase, whichever is greater.
Configuration
Q1. Can I use RSO with 4-Port Shared Storage Module?
A1. No. RSO will function properly only on the 2-Port Shared Storage Module that ships standard with the MSA500.

Q2. Can I have multiple clusters (two 2-node clusters) with the 4-Port Shared Storage Module?
A2. No, only one 2 node cluster may be deployed even when using the 4-Port Shared Storage units.

Q3. Where can I find all the configuration possibilities for the MSA500?
A3. You can find it in the MSA500 User Guide and the 4-Port Shared Storage Module User Guide.

Q4. Can I deploy an AIT or DAT tape drive for backup when using the 4-Port Shared Storage Module?
A4. The MSA500 supports the HP Universal AIT and DAT tape drives, with W2K and NT with Veritas Backup Executive as the backup application. When using the 4 Port Module for DAS (Direct Attach Storage), you may also use CA-ARCserver and HP-data protector as the backup application.
